Our 1.5 hour 'Nuc Introduction' workshop is tailored to the new beekeeper who is just about to receive their first nucleus colony!
We will cover:
- What you need to bring when picking up your nucleus colony.
- What questions should you ask your nuc supplier if you haven't already.
- What your nucleus colony should consist of (how many frames of brood, food, etc...)
- How to transfer the frames from the nuc box to your hive equipment.
- What to look for during this first inspection.
Bring all your questions- we will have time towards the end of the workshop for Q & A's! Plus you will receive a hand out after the workshop outlining the main topics of the session.
What to bring:
- Protective gear (veil, beekeeping jacket/suit, gloves)
- Water
- Notepad.
*Our bee store will be open if you need to grab any products or protective gear!
